Storm Warning

This is a pretty good episode. Jim and Blair are together throughout the entire episode and Blair uses a high-powered rifle. Two pluses for me.
The premise is that the boys are going to Storm Island to help Jim's cousin, Rucker, who works for the Coast Guard, celebrate his birthday. We first see Jim and Blair emerging from a sea plane. Jim has on his dark green jacket with the brown collar, a dark grey and blue plaid shirt over a white t-shirt, dark tan slacks and his Jags cap. Blair is wearing jeans, a dark jacket and a dark long-sleeved knit shirt. There aren't any other wardrobe changes in this episode since the boys are trapped on the island. Oh, this is also an evil sideburns episode for Blair. Jim isn't too happy about the flight over deep water, his phobia. His tummy is apparently acting up a bit. I like that Blair tells Jim he knows why Jim chose the Army over the Navy and to "buck up" about the fear.
There's a storm brewing so the boys begin to batten down the hatches. Jim gives Rucker his gift, telling him it's from he and Blair. A extendo fishing rod. His other gift is classics in Chinese. Funny how Blair asks about tv and internet. He does admit that he's done time in the wilds, so he should be used to no power.
The plot is that a speed boat is seen on the radar. When the boys go to fetch it, they find an unconscious woman. To make matters worse, Rucker finds a brief case full of heroin. The woman, Monique, tells the boys that she's running from an abusive boyfriend. It is finally revealed that the boyfriend is the Mexican heron czar. Admit tears and pleas, they believe that Monique is trying to be free of a nasty man. Jim is somewhat suspicious, but he decides to see what happens.
What happens is that when he does a Sentinel inspection of the speed boat, he finds a GPS transmitter. Not surprisingly, the bad guys show up and start to shoot up the place. The big man wants his girlfriend back, not because he wants his heroin, or because he's pining for her body, but because he claims she stole his contact list for drug smuggling. Of course, admit more tears and pleas, Monique denies all of this and pleads innocence.
Oh, we have a Jim owie. Jim goes out to negotiate an exchange of Monique for the drugs. This is where we find out that apparently the head honcho, Enrique Guzman, believes Monique took his "little black book" on tape full of his necessary drug info. When Jim tries to give him the drugs, one of the bad guys whacks Jim with the rifle. Ouch.
In this episode, we learn that Blair's been to Alaska, and we get to see Blair use a very big gun (an M-16) when the bad guys shoot up the station, but eventually the ammo runs out. Next step is to try to call for help. Rucker uses a back way to get to the light house where there is a short wave, while Jim, Blair and Monique escape to the other side of the island.
Rucker makes it, but not without being seen. He manages to send out a message, but we don't know if it's effective because the bad guys blast their way in and he has to dive out a window. Meanwhile, since there is no more ammo, Jim, Blair and Monique manage to get out of the building and hightail it through the woods. Did I mention Jim gave Monique a flare gun just in case the bad guys made it through the front door? She didn't fire it, but takes it with her.
Monique suffers a small flesh wound. They stop to tie a bandanna on it, which Jim takes from her purse along with something else we can't quite see. It's raining and everybody is quite damp. Blair has his hair pulled back so you can clearly see the sideburns. Just who was the man's consultant on that fashion statement? I like that Jim warns Blair to be careful around Monique. Blair seems to think she's on the up and up, but Jim feels otherwise.
They manage to take down three of the henchmen who are skulking around, leaving Guzman and one of his goons. When Jim, Blair and Monique get to the lighthouse, they can't find Rucker. Jim uses his hearing to track Rucker's heartbeat and they find him outside, injured. They give him first aid while Monique "accidentally" shoots the flare, claiming fear and ignorance. Yeah, sure.
Guzman's helicopter sees the flair (big surprise!) and they run off into the woods. Danny and Paul sure did love those helicopters, didn't they? Jim jumps all over Monique for her "help" while we get more tears from the innocent woman. Jim makes a decision because of Rucker's condition: he decides to leave Rucker so they have a better chance of escape. Jim accuses Monique of doing what she can to stall their rescue. Jim explains that her passport shows she's been in Rome, Athens, and Bancock, after she told Blair when she was first rescued that she'd never been anywhere but Mexico. Jim also reveals how surprised Guzman was when Jim accused him of smacking Monique around. And Jim holds up a tape that he claims Monique transfered the book to. Now Blair knows she's lying, especially when she grabs Jim's gun and fires at him.
I love the smirk on Jim's face when the gun doesn't fire. He's taken out the bullets. Smart Jim! So the bad guys show up. Monique runs. Guzman grabs the girl, but Guzman's man, Raoul, shoots Guzman. Monique runs to Raoul. Surprise (again)! Monique and Raoul planned the entire thing so they could have Guzman's business. Jim explains all this to Blair, who looks quite shocked. He's such a sucker for a pretty girl.
So Jim jumps Raoul. Monique runs off. Blair chases Monique and tussles with her. She smacks him, bloodying his nose. Then she hefts a very large rock up to smash into his head, whereby he takes a very large stick and whacks her down before he sits on her.
Very cute tag! I love how Jim keeps checking Blair's nose to be sure his little guppy is okay. And Jim managed to switch the tapes, using one of the ones Rucker got for a gift with the "real" tape. I like Jim's head tap and tummy pat to Blair. Those two are adorable together. And we find out Rucker has a fiancee also.
There you go. Storm Warning.
